About the Recipe
Burgers are about great meat, seasoning and nothing else. Served in a brioche bun with home-made mayo, this is the business.
Ingredients
400g Beef Mince
1 Tbsp Tomato Ketchup
25g Parsley leaves, chopped finely
2 Tbsp Parmesan, grated
1 Onion, grated
2 Tsp freshly ground Black Pepper
1 Tsp English Mustard
8 leaves from Cos Lettuce, shredded
4 Tomatoes, sliced
100g Mature Cheddar Cheeses, grated
1 Red Onion, sliced
100g Gherkins
4 Sweet Potatoes
2 Tbsp Rapeseed Oil
1/2 Tsp Chilli Flakes
4 Brioche or Wholemeal Rolls
2 Tbsp Homemade Mayonnaise
Preparation
Mix together the Beef Mince, Ketchup, Parmesan, Parsley, Onion, Pepper and English Mustard in a large bowl by hand. Mix thoroughly
Divide into 4 equal portions and roll into balls
Place on a baking tray and flatten to chosen thickness; or, using a 4 cooking rings to shape
Place in the fridge for 2 hours
Prior to cooking remove from fridge and bring to room temperature
Heat oven to 220 degrees C
Cut Sweet Potatoes into wedges or thick chips
Place in a bowl, mix with Oil and Chilli Flakes until covered lightly
Place on a baking tray and cook for 30 minutes, turning half way through
10 minutes before Sweet Potatoes are cooked place Beef Burgers in the oven
After 10 minutes turn the Burgers and cover with the grated Cheese. Cook for 3-4 further minutes
Check the Sweet Potatoes are cooked and remove
Place the lettuce, tomatoes and red onion on one half of each Roll
Top with a Burger
Finish with the Red Onion and Mayonnaise
Serve with the Sweet Potato Chips and Gherkins on the side
